Sweetened condensed milk bread

Sweetened condensed milk bread: a recipe as simple as tasty.
A very soft and fluffy bread, slightly sweet thanks to the sweetened condensed milk.
Perfect for breakfast or a snack.
If sprinkled with seeds on the surface it can be served as an aperitif bread.

Sweetened condensed milk bread

Ingredients

Bread dough

  • 2 + 1/4 cups (300 g) bread flour
  • 2/3 cup (160 g) full fat milk
  • 5.5 (105 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 6.5 tbsp (40 g) soft unsalted butter
  • 9 g fresh yeast
  • 2,5 g salt

Extra

  • 1 whole medium egg

Instructions

Line with baking paper a square mould 8 inches x 8 inches (20x20 cm).

In a stand mixer fitted with hook attachment, place, in order, the milk, the sweetened condensed milk, the yeast and the flour sifted with salt.

Knead on speed 1 for 8 minutes.

Gradually add the softened butter and knead on speed 2 or 3.

Once the butter completely incorporated, knead again for 3 minutes on speed 3.

On a lightly floured counter, shape the dough into a ball and let rise until double in size in a bowl covered with cling film.

Then, deflate the dough and get 20 small balls (30 g each).

Place the little balls inside the prepared mould and let rise until double in size, covering with cling film.

Heat fan oven at 300F - 150°C.

Gently brush the dough with beaten egg and bake for 25/28 minutes.

Out of the oven, remove the bread from the mould and let cool on a wire rack.

Enjoy.
