A Guide to Malmö, Part III

July 29, 2021 linda

This guide to Malmö is a paid collaboration with Malmö Town. All opinions are as always, my own.

I never thought I’d be making A Guide to Malmö Part III to be honest (but I’m SO glad I was able to do so), because I figured, how many places can open in one year during a pandemic? Turns out, in Malmö, apparently several! And I still haven’t visited many of the places I wanted to go to before my last guide. I think a part IV would be called for!

I want to try ALL the places, and all of the (vegetarian) food and all of the pastries -I used to be able to eat so much but lets just say my capabilities have become limited in that area with age. Turns out I can however eat an unlimited amount of ice cream. Perhaps next time I should stay a few days longer to fit even more into my schedule (and my belly, hehe).

If you’re curious, you can find my other Malmö guides here: part I and part II.

Hyllie Bryggeri Taproom / Stormgatan

When we sat down here I hadn’t had a beer in probably… a year or more?! I ordered a lager and it was incredibly smooth and delicious. They had several varieties and what I love is that you could order tiny glasses with beer to try more than one if you wanted to. Well worth a visit!

Rau

Tiny restaurant at Davidshallstorg with a plant based menu, with flavors from Southeast Asia. Smaller dishes for sharing, we shared three and were full after (although we weren’t that hungry to begin with!). Delicious food and super friendly staff in a cozy and calm location.

Scandwich

I know you can barely see it in the photos but this is a sandwich place – well, sandwiches with lots of topping. Exactly how it should be! We were so full when we left, the sandwiches were SO good. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free option!

Sallys Kafé

Lovely little café located in a container in Folkets Park, serving delicious sandwiches, ice cream and great coffee. Perfect place to sit down and relax while strolling through the Möllan area.

Patisserie David

I’ve wanted to go here for some time since I knew they make Portuguese custard tarts, Pastéis de Nata, which isn’t very common to find! They did not disappoint, and if I wasn’t already so full, I would have brought a whole box of them with me. I’ll be sure to do that next time!

Lilla Kafferosteriet

Cozy café in central Malmö. It’s located in a very old house with many charming rooms and a courtyard where you can sit and have a fika. Great coffee and the light in there was fantastic which is something I am always excited about as a photographer 🙂

Amiralgatans Speceributik

Beautiful shop selling goods from small scale farmers and producers, with focus on sustainability. We bought fruit, jam and marcona almonds for our picnic and everything was so good!

Picnic in Kungsparken

This park is a haven in central Malmö and together with Slottsträdgården (which is just the other side of the canal) my absolute favorite! I like to come here to relax, check out the gardens and have a picnic if I have time for it. I needed some new props and found the blanket, the small bowls and the pistachio cream from Gridelli at my favorite shop, AB Småland. We were a bit late so all the good bakeries had closed so the bread is from a supermarket. Haha.

Info about Kungsparken

Kärleksgatan 3

One of the places I’ve been wanting to go to for some time, and this year I was finally successful! Their focus is ravioli, and what can I say?! I love the concept and the food.

Geijersgatan 53

I had never heard of this place before as it is located in Limhamn where I’ve never been, but I’m so glad my brother told me about it! They have a great outdoor area where you can sit and have a fika, and a shop with plants, ceramics, books and other things. I was so excited about this fika too because it was so hot during my stay, I had the caramelized banana with toasted almonds, ice cream and salted caramel sauce. Yum!

Aster

Incredible place in a very cool location – a completely new neighborhood in Malmö called Varvsstaden. We came here for cocktails and had a Gimlet, a Bergamot and a Negroni and they were all fantastic. Next time I’ll be sure to have something to eat as well. I predict this will become one of my favorite places in Malmö.

400 grader

Another place I wanted to go to, and this time we were able to get a table! Incredible pizza in a very relaxed and cozy environment. For a moment I felt like I was in Italy!

Noir Vin & Kaffekultur

Noir was included in my first guide but they deserve to be mentioned again. Since last time, they have also added wine to their menu. I was there for breakfast so it was a little early for wine 😉 One of my favorite places to go to when I’m in Malmö!

Ruths

Last year I had Bastard on my guide, they have now changed their concept and are now Ruths. A restaurant, bakery and deli and they are open from 7am until midnight (!). We stopped there for a croissant and coffee because once again, I was so full, but the croissant was amazing!
